PH5

Designed by Poul Henningsen in 1958

Poul Henningsen is a houshold name in the Scandinavian and danish region of the world. It is commonly said that a PH5 pendant hangs in every danish home. This iconic design is so special to me. It is such an early design (1958) and has been an amazing looking light since. It does not age, it does not go out of style. Paul Henningsen is long gone but his designs still have a huge impact on this world we live in. It is hard to scroll through a pinterest feed or design blog without spotting one of these lights. There are three shades and a cone mounted on three braces that all together diffuse the light to where it is needed. This light is meant to hang low over your dining table and provides even light throughout a room but focused more intense light on while you eat. The PH5 retails at about $850.

STUA Globus

The Globus Chair designed by Jesus Gasca in 1994

STUA is the world of Jesus Gasca's designs. He has created a fantastic company that focuses on the manufacturing process so their final product has a perfect finish. Gasca's goal is to creat pieces that are simple, timeless, and recognizable. We think the Globus chair encompasses all he has set out to do. This chair is truly unique and recognizable. The Globus chair is available at DWR and retails for $340.00 which is a steal!

Eames Lounger and Ottoman

Designed by the legendary Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller in 1956

Way way way ahead of its time was the Eames Lounger and Ottoman. This iconic design cemented the Eames brother's designer status to design gods. The Eames brothers imagined a world where items were designed not to be sold but to bring greater pleasure to our lives. These brothers pioneered the molding of plywood for furniture in the 40's. After World War II, the airplane manufacturing equipment used to build the massive battalions of war planes became obsolete. Originally the machines were used to bend plywood for aircraft bodies, but the Eames brothers repurposed the machines to create new forms of furniture never before seen and never before attainable.

45 Chair

Designed by Finn Juhl in 1945

Finn Juhl is absolutely an inspiration to me. His designs were so far ahead of his time and he did not sacrifice the details for the sake of easy production. This arm rest is absolutely perfect.
